Elementary Activities

RCS Elementary School offers a diverse assortment of activities above and beyond the regular school day. These activities are offered to help students discover hidden talents, meet people they normally would not meet, and learn about things outside of their own environment.

 Extracurricular Groups

Cougar Chorus which is a special opportunity for those elementary students grades 3-5 who love to sing! Members develop an open tone, clean articulation and improve resonance. They have so much fun building their voices and self-confidence to perform in front of small and large groups of people.

FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is a global program created to get kids excited about science and technology. FLL utilizes theme-based challenges to engage kids in research, problem solving, and engineering. The cornerstones of the program are its core values, which emphasize contributions of others, friendly sportsmanship, learning, and community involvement.

Odyssey of the Mind

Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level.

 Field Trips

RCS elementary students go on a variety of field trips.  Field trips reinforce what students are learning in the classroom outside of the classroom, deepening their level of learning.

Field day at RCS is more of a carnival type format for the entire family. Kids move from station to station where they can compete in traditional field day type of events, jump on the blow ups, watch movies, etc. There is also a dunk tank and water fun area. The day ends with a family barbeque celebrating a great year of school.

Christmas Store

RCS parents organize a store in the Resurrection Fellowship church sanctuary where students, parents, staff, and the community can get a head start or complete their Christmas shopping. We provide RCS elementary students time during the day to go buy their Christmas presents, complete with wrapping and all.

 Spirit Days

The RCS elementary school participates in Spirit Days to support the Middle School and High School athletics programs and foster the Cougar spirit!

 After School Program

RCS after school Program is called A.C.T. (After Class Time). The goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, educational and fun environment in a Christian atmosphere. The A.C.T. environment enhances each student’s life as well as provides a much needed service for parents. It is offered for K-6, Monday through Friday until 5:30 for a nominal charge.
